The TSA Secure Flight Program

The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to introduce the Secure Flight program during 2009. The TSA created this program to expedite the matching of airline passenger names and basic identifying information against those on known-terrorist watch lists. Under the rule, airlines must submit a list of passengers to the TSA in order to receive permission to issue boarding passes to travelers.Secure Flight requires that airlines provide the following information on every passenger:
  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender

The name that is used to make your airline reservation must exactly match the name on the government-issued photo identification that you will present to the TSA to clear security check points in the USA.

In support of the new rule, we will begin collecting this data from our travelers and storing the data in your traveler profile.

The requirement that all travelers begin using their full name and that this name exactly match the name that appears on their government-issued identification means that you may need to update the information you have on file with Gant Travel and your airline, hotel, and car rental loyalty programs.
