Southwest to increase service from New York LaGuardia. After acquiring rights for six new roundtrip flights, Southwest will expand its existing service from New York’s LaGuardia airport to Akron-Canton, Chicago Midway, Houston Hobby and Nashville.
Delta announces new nonstop flights from Dallas Love Field. With the October 2014 expiration of the Wright Amendment, Delta will launch nonstop flights from Dallas Love Field to Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York LaGuardia and Los Angeles.
Virgin Atlantic will charge for seat reservations. Beginning in April 2014, passengers on Virgin Atlantic will have to pay to reserve a seat on long-haul flights. For those who choose not to pay the fee, seat assignments will become available 24 hours before flight time.
